Ink Calendar

ok so this is Genious!!

"Ink Calendar" make use the timed pace of the ink spreading on the paper to indicate time.

The ink is absorbed slowly, and the numbers in the calendar are "printed" daily. One a day, they are filled with ink until the end of the month. A calendar self-updated, which enhances the perception of time passing and not only signaling it.

The ink colors are based on a spectrum, which relate to a “color temperature scale”, each month having a color related to our perception of the whether on that month. The colors range from dark blue in December to, three shades of green in spring or oranges, red in the summer.

The scale for measuring the “color temperature” that I have used is a standard called ‘D65’ and corresponds roughly to a midday sun in Western / Northern Europe.

The "Ink Calendar" was developed for “Gradual “, an exhibition featuring works, which were evolving during the exhibition time at the London Design Festival 2007.

Production: Self-production.
Specs: Ink on paper, various dimensions.
Exhibitions: "Gradual" 5, Crownwell Place, London Design Festival, 2007.

Chic and Basic Hotel product packaging

The beautiful, minimalist and slightly irreverent design aesthetic that Barcelona’s Chic and Basic Born Hotel sets up with its stunning interior layout is carried through perfectly into its product packaging, which features cheeky, bold messaging in large, unadorned fonts.

Check out the interiors for Chic and Basic Hotel:

It really seems...hmm.. chic and basic. Just great.

Cat House

If you are an apologist of modern architecture and if you´re also a cat lover, this house is for your lovely cat.

Leo Kempf made this house for his cat, Olive. She enters through a door in the bottom side and then ascends a ramp, which boosts her to the upper level. The front wall is plexi-glass, the floor is 2.5 inch thick old sheepskin rug, and his wife made some small paintings that hang on the walls. There is also a big cardboard scratching porch. Cats love to scratch and relax on cardboard. The top is removable and the glass slides out for maintenance.

Like.. WOW!!!!!!!
I´ve already seen some of his work a long time ago, but today i´m actually searching his website, checking all his works and... really really dope.

"In his work, the artist uses space and architecture in a peculiar way. Unlike architectural spaces, however, his creations have no function – “Art allows for a place where functionality does not exist,” Leandro Erlich states. His pieces do not lead to remote places, but to everyday places presented in pieces. A window, a ladder, a skylight, a door – common elements that compose sophisticated artworks.

The artist is known for deluding the viewer, who becomes a participant in his work, creating impossible and surrealistic, yet very true-to-life situations. The work is interactive and, for this reason, appreciated by every sort of public. Leandro Erlich’s gaze does not lead to distant or unknown places; the final effect is simple and clean, even though the pieces involve complex materials and technical devices.

Beat of the day

i´m speechless Biz Markie.

Love is beeing stupid together...

this is for you, dear su.

Temporary Taggers

Street art tends toward the ephemeral, lasting only until a cop or cleaning crew comes by to tear it down. But the tagging duo James Powderly and Evan Roth takes transience to a new level, decorating walls with a unique form of temporary, high-tech graffiti they call laser tagging: instead of painting, they use a laser pointer. Their canvases of choice are skyscrapers or monuments, and their efforts have found audiences in person and on YouTube. Since they got their start in 2007, the pair have aimed their projectors at edifices from Italy to Hong Kong — and been featured in an exhibition at New York City's Museum of Modern Art.
